Shadowborne Chronicles is an upcoming indie animated series directed by Daniel Negre and Elisa Asensi.
It's set in a world that could be confused with ours, in which magic used to be present in everyday life. Centuries ago, an international war caused the original givers of magic to split into two factions, the Shadow Lieutenants and the
Guardians of the Light, each determined to remove magic from humans in their own way.
In the present, Aria, a young orphan girl, witnesses a sky conjunction that occurs only once every thousand years. At the same time, Umbriel, a fallen dark lord and previous leader of the Shadow Lieutenants, breaks free from the prison he was originally banished to. After meeting Aria, he realises that she may be more powerful than she believes, and her magic could even be useful to him.
Together, they embark on a quest to help Umbriel reclaim his position as ruler of the Shadow Lieutenants and investigate more about Aria's newfound and mysterious powers.

Her love for astronomy led her to run away from her orphanage one night to watch an extremely important event in the sky with her telescope. That night was when she met Umbriel, the person who she would be spending the next months of her life with, in a journey to discover more about the powers she never knew she had.
